 Violin
The smallest of
the stringed instruments, the violin has a high, sweet voice. It is
one of the most important instruments in the orchestra. |
 Viola
Because the viola
is slightly larger than the violin, it has a lower voice. The viola
is the "alto" voice of the orchestra and sounds more mellow than
the violin. |
 Cello
Because it is much
larger than both the violin and viola, it has an even lower voice.
It adds richness and depth to the sound of the orchestra.

 String Bass
The string
bass is taller than the people who play it. It's a giant violin with
a deep, mellow voice ... even deeper than the cello.
