Benefits of Private Instruction:

While many people enjoy a long musical experience through school alone, the added benefit of private instruction cannot be replaced. The Study of Music helps students achieve success in developing intelligence, in school and learning, and in society. Music is a gift that lasts a lifetime. In our later years many of us may not be able to do some of the things that gave us joy. But we will still be able to sing or play a musical instrument!

A 2004 Stanford University study showed that mastering a musical instrument improves the way the human brain processes information. Musically trained children performed better in a memory tests correlated with general intelligence skills such as literacy, verbal memory, visiospatial processing, mathematics and IQ.

Students who study music achieve higher test scores; regardless of socioeconomic background. Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, a fact that makes it valuable in all areas of development. Musical training permanently wires a young mind for enhanced performance in all aspects of life. SAT scores of students who took part in music instruction surpassed students with no music training…
